Interview with Nazli Margarian
“I read books about Islam there, and when I came to Iran at the age of 17, I already considered myself as a Muslim and had made the firm decision to choose Islam,” said Ms. Nazli Margarian, referring to her conversion to Islam, “I officially converted to Islam in Iran, but I was a little hesitant to become a Shia. I thought that the Sunnis, who are strict about some religious issues, would have a better religion, but then I realized that I love the Ahl al-Bayt in my heart, in my nature. I concluded that a true Shiite proves his adherence to Islam not in words but in implementation. Of course, I learned to pray from my Sunni friend, who later learned how to pray like Shia.”
She expresses her interest in the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution:
“They gave me a book that had good material in Armenian about the Islamic Revolution. The picture of Imam Khomeini was also on the cover of the book. interestingly the Iranians against revolution called me because of study this book, but this book introduced Imam Khomeini and the Islamic Revolution to me. Of course, I got familiar with the martyrs years later. After graduating from university, I was invited to Imam Khomeini University in Qazvin for a three-week course. I also had a cinema class there. One day, they showed us the movie Khodahafez Rafigh. I was so influenced that I cried in the class. frankly I was embarrassed deeply. Because my classmates made fun of me and laughed at me. I had heard about the Iran-Iraq war before watching this film, but after watching the film, I became more eager to know. Later we were taken to the Museum of holly Defense. All my friends and classmates liked the museum. There has built a part like the shrine of Imam Hussain and Hazrat Abulfazl (AS). After that, every time I come to Iran, I will definitely visit this museum.”
